Introduction
Franklin BMC have been commissioned to Create a Lottery Management System by designing the scratched card codes, the infrastructure of SMS Shortcode, collecting, and filtering the SMS data, and replying to SMSs to the Lottery Draw to find the winners.
Scratched Cards Codes
We have created a system to generate a six-long code alpha-numeric ready to be printed and distributed to clients. Clients who buy Pilsner Lager are provided with these codes, then they send the codes to the shortcode number provided.
SMS Short-Code & SMSs
We registered an SMS Shortcode specific for Kapu la Wana Project of which all sms sent to that number are received and analyzed to be later used in the Lottery Draw.
A Toll-Free SMS service was provided to enable clients to send codes free through their mobile phones to any network in Tanzania and if the code sent is right will receive back sms to confirm the success.
SMS Database and Drawings
Our System collected all SMSs (Correct and wrong ones) in one depository then we used them in the bi-weekly Draw which every draw produced seven winners (3 Smart Phones / 3 Smart Tv / 1 Motorcycle) for three weeks and one grand prize was a Motor vehicle (IST).
Set-up, Graphics and Calling Telephone
Franklin BMC in collaboration with Bramex and Do-Wide Company made this possible by making sure setup graphics, the printing of banners and cards possible. Also thanks to Do-Wide (Gwen Group) for letting the Kapu la Wana Project take place at their premises and use their Call Center to call winners direct from the system.
